In 2010 Apidologie will be blowing out its 40 candles! With this special birthday in mind, Apidologie is on the right road: its impact factor rising yet again in 2006 to 1.906.

It was in fact created in 1970 by Jean Louveaux and Friedrich Ruttner by the merger of the two journals Annales de l’Abeille and Zeitschrift für Bienenforschung which stopped publishing in 1968. From Franco-Germanic origins, Apidologie has become over time, the leading international journal in the field of bee biology, their breeding and pollination.
