Mean weight (± SD) of pollen remnants per brood cell of male (grey) and female (white) bee offspring reared at three different temperatures. All brood cells with surviving offspring (until cocoon stage) were included, regardless of whether they contained pollen remnants or not. In the 20 °C-treatment, no pollen remnants occurred (20 °C: N_Males = 47, N_Females = 17; 25 °C: N_Males = 58, N_Females = 9; 30 °C: N_Males = 42, N_Females = 10).
